Mark is an New Zealand and UK based earth and environmental scientist with a particular specializations in the sustainable management of water resources (hydrogeology), geology and volcanology.
He has a passion for unique and engaging science communication.
Educated in the UK to PhD level, he had 20 years practical work experience in earth and environmental sciences both in the private and government sectors. Much of his earlier work focused providing his skills to the water needs of developing countries (Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania). He has worked in New Zealand for the past 12 years as an independent specialist researching regional groundwater resources providing the basis for environmental management policy.
Mark is regularly involved in communicating his work through various media to non-technical audiences.
